Early-stage capital for Canadian companies innovating in the agriculture sector

Through the Weston Breakthrough Fellows program, Wittington Ventures is backing Canada’s most promising innovators to accelerate the commercialization of climate technologies emerging from Canada’s leading research institutions. In partnership with Breakthrough Energy, fellows gain access to early-stage capital, commercialization training, mentorship, and the combined global networks of Wittington Ventures and Breakthrough Energy to help transform scientific discoveries into venture-scale companies. The inaugural cohort focuses on the agriculture sector.

The Weston Breakthrough Fellowship supports the next generation of Canadian climate founders — those with the scientific insight and entrepreneurial drive to transform breakthrough ideas into global companies. By accelerating commercialization, the program aims to help more Canadian climate technologies reach the market.

Early-stage Canadian founders or founding teams, headquartered in Canada, with deep technical expertise and the drive to build — including undergraduate researchers, graduate students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral fellows working on climate innovation in the agriculture sector.
